Andy Salo acquired East/West in 2017 and the company has gone through major changes and growth since that time. Andy has brought in new technology, new faces, and new customers. East/West Manufacturing Enterprises is a full-service electronics contract manufacturing company that produces high quality PCBs, custom cables, and electrical/mechanical assemblies for many different industries globally.

 

Andy brings over 20 years’ experience with successful high-tech companies in product management, sales, and engineering. Prior to East/West, Andy was Chief Operating Officer of Inocybe Technologies (acquired by Kontron). Before Inocybe, Andy was Vice President of Product Management at Imagine Communications, where Andy defined the cloud strategy for video service provider customers. Andy has held additional go-to-market strategy roles at network caching company Inktomi (acquired by Yahoo), storage security vendor Decru (acquired by NetApp), security leader TippingPoint (acquired by 3Com/HP), and network management software leader Solarwinds (IPO).

 

Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

President and VP of Sales

As President of East/West, Richard is responsible for developing and nurturing customer and business partner relationships and oversees management of the company.  Richard joined East/West in 2012, and brings many years of experience in testing and manufacturing.

 

Richard brings over 20 years’ experience in Project Management, Quality Management, Production Management and Sales.  Prior to East/West, Richard worked with leading engineering companies Radian International LLC and VI Technology. At Radian, Richard was the Quality Manager that oversaw the Business Group ISO 9001 certification in Austin, TX and Boulder, CO. Richard was also a Project Manager that oversaw various contracts including a multiyear government contract that was audited every month prior to deliveries and had a 100% success rate.  Richard’s role at VI Technology, a Test and Measurement Company, included Director of Manufacturing and Sales.  There he worked with companies such as Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Texas Instruments and Applied Materials.

 

Richard holds a BBA degree from Texas State University.

Roger is responsible for managing production including PCB assembly, Electromechanical assembly, testing and manufacturing in East/West’s production facilities, in addition to managing Purchasing and Shipping/Receiving. Roger has over 30 years of expertise in professional leadership roles in all aspects of the PCB manufacturing industry with leading companies including Avant Technology, Basler Electric, Solectron (acquired by Flex), and Xetel Corporation.

 

Roger joined East/West in 2016 from Avant Technology. At Avant, Roger was responsible for 12 SMT production lines and managed the SMT Technicians.

 

Roger is Lean Manufacturing certified from the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) and holds additional certifications in SMT Process Engineering and related disciplines.

Darrell is responsible for managing the Engineering team and Supply Chain for East/West. Darrell has over 20 years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing industry in diverse roles encompassing Manufacturing Operations, Engineering Management, and Project Management. He joined East/West in 2020 and previously served as the Engineering Manager for Austin Manufacturing Services.

 

 Darrell is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Business specializing in Operations and Management Information Systems.

Engineering and Supply Chain Manager

Bryan is East/West's Quality Manager and is responsible for managing the quality team and maintaining all aspects of the Quality Management System including ISO 9001, ISO 13485 (Medical) and AS9100 (Aerospace and Defense). Bryan has over 30 years experience in the Quality and Engineering fields with leadership roles at IBM, Applied Materials, and United Technologies.

 

Bryan joined East/West in 2022 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Electronics from Park University.

Quality Manager

As a Strategic Advisor and former VP of Operations, Jim was responsible for engaging with customers on new projects and ensuring project success in manufacturing. Jim co-founded East/West in 2003, and has been instrumental in its growth and success.


Prior to East/West Jim spent 21 years in design, applications support/development, and management roles with IBM, AMD, and Legerity on programs ranging from NASA Space Shuttle Mission Control to evolving voice/data communication systems.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Master's Certificate in Applied Program Management from Villanova University.
